HOR 009 PD: 6 years after the original 7" EP was released in only 666 copies, this already timeless EP is being made available again on limited edition picture disc! Abysmal Grief will overwhelm you with their occult Horror Doom Metal wrapped in sheer darkness. Gothic in the true sense of the word and symphonic with the elaborate multi-instrumental keyboard sounds, but always ultra HEAVY with simple yet highly effective guitar riffs and sharp and twisted guitar solos! Both "Hearse" and "Borgo Pass" are among the finest songs ever written within the confines of Doom, yet the band cannot simply be labelled as merely a Doom band! The concept of the music of Abysmal Grief is based on the medianic relations with the World Beyond and the inner spiritual research by the divination of the deceased. The deep contemplation of the funereal mysticism, far from every kind of religious conviction and united to a serious and objective interpretation of occult texts, provide the starting point for the draft of the lyrics: Short novels inspired also by the interest in the Horror cinematography and literature. Consequently the music becomes the soundtrack of the story, and it has the purpose to bring the listener inside the narrated scene.
